A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to further strengthen the cooperation and collaboration between the UNESCO and the Govt. of India, and for continuing the recognition of the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) by UNESCO as a category-II centre, was signed between the UNESCO and the Govt. of India on 11th April, 2018 in the Department of Biotechnology (DBT). Mr. Shigeru Aoyagi (Director, UNESCO, New Delhi) and Dr. Renu Swarup (Secretary, DBT, Govt. of India) signed the agreement. Present on this occasion were Prof. Sudhanshu Vrati (Executive Director, RCB), Mr. B. Anand (Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, DBT), Mr. C. P. Goyal (Joint Secretary, DBT), Dr. Alka Sharma (Advisor, DBT), Mr. Sundeep Sarin (Advisor, DBT), Dr. Kakali Dey Dasgupta (Scientist D, DBT) among the others.
