RCB partners with THSTI, NIBMG and other institutions in embarking upon pre-term birth programme. Preterm birth is one of the major global public health problems and it is the single largest cause of neonatal deaths. India contributes the highest number of preterm birth and deaths worldwide. The pregnancy is multifactorial complex physiological and molecular processes and dysregulation causes poor pregnancy outcome. Factors influencing preterm birth are being addressed following genomics, proteomics and metagenomics approaches. RCB is engaged in addressing the proteomics-based questions in this major DBT-funded programme.
