Dr. Arvind Sahu
Dr. Arvind Sahu is the Executive Director of Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad. He holds a Ph.D. from Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and University of Texas Health Sci. Ctr. at Tyler, Texas. His research focuses on the complement system and viral immune evasion, with significant contributions to understanding how viruses modulate host immunity and how complement pathways protect against infections such as influenza. He has received several prestigious honors, including fellowships from all three major Indian science academies and the J.C. Bose National Fellowship. He is a co-inventor of the compstatin technology licensed to Potentia/Apellis, which has been approved by the US FDA for multiple debilitating diseases driven by complement.
As a leader, he actively promotes cutting-edge research, innovation, and scientific training in the field of biotechnology.
