Dr. Anil Thakur
Dr. Anil Thakur is Assistant Professor at the Regional Centre for Biotechnology. His expertise lies in the area focused on the translational control of gene expression in yeast and fungal pathogens. He earned his PhD degree from Institute of Microbial Technology and carried out his Post doc studies at National Institutes of Health, USA.
His team employs an integrated approach, involving structural tools, biophysical techniques, biochemical methods and functional in vivo assays to investigate the translation and fungal pathogenesis. By using the translational machinery, they seek to identify novel therapeutic targets for fungal diseases, which are increasingly prevalent among immunocompromised individuals.
Furthermore, he has more than 15 publications in the Journal of international repute.
