The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) have signed an agreement to establish the “RCB-IITD Collaborative Platform” for initiating wide ranging collaborations for fundamental research and technology development. RCB and IITD are contributing matching funds to support collaborative and interdisciplinary research projects, through a joint call for proposals. Faculty members of IITD and RCB will jointly prepare a project proposal for a seed grant for 2 years. It is expected that these interdisciplinary research collaborations will lead to preliminary data that can be used to obtain strong support from external funding agencies, leading to joint research publications, patents etc.
